Overview

Como trabajo de fin de curso, Luis Almansa pide a sus alumnos del taller literario de Albalajara que escriban un relato a partir de una vieja fotografía encontrada en una almoneda. Los alumnos aceptan, pero le retan a él, como escritor experimentado, a que escriba también su relato de la foto. Por suerte, el atribulado profesor se cruza con un hilo que, aparentemente, es el de la verdadera historia y decide seguirlo. Al final, el hilo le llevará a un regalo, un regalo envenenado. Con estos mimbres, Torrejón se desdobla en cuatro personajes, tres alumnos y su profesor, y nos va desgranando cuatro historias tan diferentes como lo son ellos mismos. Hay una quinta historia, pero el lector tendrá que buscarla en otra novela: El delito de la lluvia, de Paloma González Rubio.

Como dice el propio autor, esta obra es un auténtico tríler: el lector intenta seguir la bolita de página en página pero nunca adivina dónde terminará.

De la mort de Voltaire à la révolution de 1848, les savants, philosophes et écrivains redéfinissent leur rôle politique, dans le sillage d'une Révolution française perçue comme étant l'oeuvre des philosophes. Les intellectuels s'interrogent sur les effets politiques de leurs textes, les conditions d'une participation aux charges administratives et éducatives, de leur fonctionnarisation ou d'une prise de parole qui touche un public plus large que le cercle savant.
A rebours d'une histoire qui les présente en héros sous la forme de l'opposant ou du grand écrivain, les études réunies ici mettent en lumière les rapports de force inhérents aux réseaux d'intellectuels et les conceptions parfois divergentes qu'ils développent, notamment sur la pureté du savoir théorique. A travers l'étude de certaines figures marquantes telles que Johann Gottlieb Fichte ou Germaine de Staël, de réseaux comme celui des membres de l'Institut ou d'événements comme l'affaire des "sept de Göttingen", cet ouvrage éclaire aussi bien la dimension sociale que réflexive de ces prises de position politiques.
L'approche se veut ici pluridisciplinaire, associant analyses historiques, littéraires et philosophiques; elle met en évidence les effets de miroirs entre intellectuels français et allemands, et revient sur la revendication de généalogies occasionnellement transfrontalières.
